FAQ

1. What is the Platinum League?

The Platinum League is an online gymnastics competition series powered by Elevien. The competition will be held from November 21st to 23rd, 2024, and allows WAG and MAG gymnasts from around the world to participate remotely using FIG-certified apparatus.

2. Who can compete?

The competition is open to all MAG and WAG Senior and Junior gymnasts (born no later than 2010). The only differentiation is the skill level, so the competition is divided into two different levels, based on the D score (according to the new FIG Code of Points 2025-2028).

For more details on levels, please read Question 4 below.

3. How do I register for the competition?

All registrations must be completed online via the registration link. Registrations and payments must be submitted by November 23rd, 2024, at 12:00 CET. Registrations can be submitted by the gymnasts themselves, by the coaches or by parents/guardians of minor gymnasts (a Parental Consent Form needs to be uploaded in the Registration form).

4. What is the competition format?

The competition is an Apparatus Finals, consisting of two levels, determined by the gymnast’s starting score (D score):

Level 1: For gymnasts with a starting D score above a specified limit:
- MAG D score 4.8 and above, except for Rings 4.6 and above and Vault 4.4 and above
- WAG D score 4.8 and above, except for Vault 4.0 and above

Level 2: For gymnasts with a starting D score below that limit. Gymnasts can only register for one level per apparatus.
- MAG D score 4.7 and below, except for Rings 4.5 and below and Vault 4.3 and below
- WAG D score 4.7 and below, except for Vault 3.9 and below

5. How much is the entry fee?

The entry fee is €50 per gymnast per apparatus. Proof of payment is required by November 23rd, 2024, 12:00 CET, to complete the registration.
Entry fees are non-refundable.

6. What are the prize amounts?

The total prize pool starts at €62,000 and increases with each new registration after the minimum quota of 30 gymnasts per apparatus/league has been reached. Prizes are distributed per apparatus and per level. The example shows the minimum prize pool for Level 1 and Level 2:

1st place: €1,624
2nd place: €812
3rd place: €406
4th place: €324.80
5th place: €284.20
6th place: €243.60
7th place: €203.00
8th place: €162.40

Level 2:
1st place: €856
2nd place: €428
3rd place: €214
4th place: €160.50
5th place: €107
6th place: €96.30
7th place: €85.60
8th place: €74.90
9th place: €64.20
10th place: €53.50

7. Will the prize amounts change based on the number of participants?

Yes, the prize amounts are influenced by the number of participants. With each new registration after the 30th gymnast, the prize pool increases proportionally, individually for each apparatus/league independently.

8. What if there's a tie between gymnasts for a prize-winning position?

In case of a tie, the FIG tie-breaking rules will be applied. If the tie remains unresolved, the prize money for the tied ranks will be combined and evenly distributed among the tied gymnasts.

9. Are there separate prize pools for each level?

Yes, Level 1 and Level 2 each have their own prize pool. The prize money is distributed separately for each apparatus and level, ensuring fair rewards for gymnasts competing at different levels.

10. Are there any taxes or fees deducted from the prize money?

The Platinum League is not responsible for any local taxes payable in the gymnast’s country of residence. Winners are responsible for managing any tax obligations that may arise from their prize earnings.

11. When will the total prize pool be announced?

The final prize pool, including the base amount and all accumulated entry fees, will be announced after the registration deadline of November 23rd, 2024, at 12:00 CET.

12. How will I receive my prize money if I win?

Winners will receive their prize money via bank transfer to their Club or National Federation, as they wish. The bank details of the Club or National Federation provided during registration will be used for the transfer, and winners are responsible for any bank fees associated with receiving the funds.

13. Is prize money awarded for each apparatus separately?

Yes, prize money is awarded for each apparatus separately. Gymnasts can compete in multiple apparatus and be eligible to win prizes for each one, depending on their performance in each event. Important: gymnasts are not allowed to register for the same apparatus in both levels.

14. What are the equipment requirements?

Gymnasts must use FIG-certified apparatus from their own gym. Performances must be recorded following the guidelines provided by the organizer to ensure fair judging.

15. Can minors participate?

Yes, gymnasts of all ages can participate. For minors, a signed consent form from a parent or guardian is required. The Organizing Committee will verify these forms.

16. What are the competition rules?

The competition will be conducted under the new FIG Code of Points 2025-2028 and under the following regulations:

- FIG Code of Conduct
- FIG Technical Regulations
- FIG Code of Points 2025-2028
- Anti-Doping Rules
- FIG Safeguarding Framework
- FIG Code of Ethics

17. How are the routines judged?

Routines are judged online by a panel of FIG-certified judges. The judging panel includes:
- 1 D judge (minimum FIG Cat. 2)
- 5 E judges (minimum FIG Cat. 3)
- 1 Supervisor (minimum FIG Cat. 2)

The competition will be supervised by the Presidents of FIG MAG and WAG Technical committees, Mr. Arturs Mickevics and Ms. Donatella Sacchi.

18. How do I record my routine?

Gymnasts must record their routines using the Elevien app on a mobile phone or other recording device according to the instructions provided by the organizer. The recording is automatically uploaded to the judging panel.

19. What are the camera angle requirements for each apparatus?

1. The camera must be positioned to capture the gymnast’s entire body at all times. No part of the gymnast should be cut off during the recording.

2. The device should be kept horizontal throughout the recording.

3. Specific camera angles must be followed depending on the apparatus:
- Floor: The person recording should move with the gymnast, ensuring the full body is always in view, and the floor lines are visible.
- Vault: The entire approach and jump must be captured. Both jumps, including the return to the starting point, should be recorded in one continuous shot.
- Other Apparatus: Specific angles for these should ensure that all movements are visible without obstruction

4. The camera should be placed on the spot where the judges usually sit, so the online judges get the best view. Check out the full instructions and photo examples in the Directives.

20. What happens if I submit my routine late?

Routines must be submitted by November 23rd, 2024, 12:00 CET. Late submissions will not be considered unless fewer than 30 competitors are registered for an apparatus/level, in which case the competition will continue until this minimum is reached.

21. What if I want to promote a personal sponsor during the competition?

Gymnasts are allowed to display personal sponsors' logos on their competition attire or apparatus. The sponsors can be promoted in the gym as well, visible in the routine video frame. However, any form of racism, extremism, or inappropriate content is strictly prohibited.

22. Will anti-doping regulations apply?

Yes, the competition follows the World Anti-Doping Code (WADC) and FIG Anti-Doping Rules. Gymnasts must comply with these regulations.
